CM Shinde reacts after 'bomb scare' in Mumbai, assures 'strict action against culprits'
'Bomb scare' in Mumbai: After the 'bomb scare' in Mumbai, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, on Sunday, assured that the perpetrators would face strict action.
"The Mumbai Police Department is on high alert; no one will succeed in any way. Our police officers are capable in every way, and anyone who does something wrong or violates the rules will be punished. Strong action will be taken against the perpetrators," said CM Shinde.
For the unversed, Mumbai Police swung into action after an anonymous caller warned of serial blasts in the city, officials said on Sunday.
"On Saturday evening, around 6 p.m., Mumbai Police Control received a threat call. Before hanging up, the caller stated that there would be serial blasts in Mumbai," an official said.
The police responded by conducting searches at several key public places and installations throughout the city. However, no explosives or anything suspicious were discovered.
"Police are currently trying to find out the details of the caller," the official said, adding that an investigation is ongoing.
