According to the police, the bus travelling from Delhi's Wazirabad to Bihar's Supaul caught fire around 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Although the real cause of the fire is unknown, police assume it started from luggage stored on the bus's roof.
When the passengers noticed the flames rising from the bus, there was a stampede-like situation. The bus came to a stop, and the passengers stepped out.
Police and firefighters responded quickly and extinguished the fire. However, the entire bus was damaged by that time.
Traffic on the Yamuna Expressway was halted for some time due to the fire.
