Terrorists and security personnel exchanged gunfire in the Pulwama area of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. The gunfire occurs prior to Tuesday's (June 4) Lok Sabha election vote tallying.
Following information that security personnel had received regarding a terror hideaway in the Nehama region of Pulwama, the gunfight broke out. Terrorists opened fire on police and security personnel while they were conducting a search of the hideaway, starting the battle.

In Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on May 7, two militants were slain in a gunfight with security personnel. Among the militants slain in the battle was Basit Dar, an active member of the Resistance Front (TRF), a terrorist organization supported by Lashkar.
