PTC News Desk: A 30-year-old man was arrested after he put spy cameras in his tenant's bathroom and bedroom. The incident took place in Delhi's Shakarpur area.

The woman, a civil service aspirant, used to hand over the keys to her rented home to her landlord's son, Karan, before leaving town. In her absence, he installed spy cameras in the bulb holders in the flat's washroom and bedroom.

The incident came to light after the woman noticed unusual activity on her WhatsApp account.

She noticed that her WhatsApp account was hooked into an unknown laptop. She signed out of it. However, she realised that she was being watched.

"After being advised to check her linked devices, she discovered that her WhatsApp account was logged into an unknown laptop, and she promptly logged out of it," deputy commissioner of police (east) Apoorva Gupta said.

The woman first found the hidden camera in the bathroom's bulb holder. She contacted the police on Monday. They later discovered another camera in her bedroom.

The police grilled Karan after the woman told them that she used to give her keys to him.

During the interrogation, Karan admitted to installing the cameras three months ago, when she left for her hometown in Uttar Pradesh.

He purchased three spy cameras easily accessible in electronics stores and installed one in her bedroom and the other in her bathroom. Because these cameras could not be operated remotely, Karan would frequently ask the woman for the keys to her home under the guise of repairing electrical fixtures and fans in order to transfer the recorded footage from the memory card to his laptop, according to the police.

The cops have found another hidden camera in Karan's possession. They found two laptops that were used to store the captured videos.
