PTC News Desk: Two terrorists carrying an American-made M4 carbine and an AK-47, were caught on CCTV footage spending seven minutes at a workers' camp in Central Kashmir's Ganderbal area on October 20, killing seven people.

Among the dead was a doctor from Budgam, Kashmir, and six others from outside the Valley. They were employed by APCO Infratech, which is building the Z-Morh tunnel on the Srinagar-Sonamarg highway.

The attack took place around 7.25 p.m. on October 20 when some personnel were sitting in the dining room and others were heading for dinner.

The camp is situated right below an approach road to the tunnel, surrounded by barren mountains on one side and the Srinagar-Leh national highway on the other.

Following the incident, senior police officers, as well as officials from the National Investigation Agency and other security agencies, inspected the scene.

"There are no CCTV cameras installed in the area where they first opened fire. However, CCTV footage captured the spot they went to next, showing the two entering and starting fire. They also attacked the mess before emerging and targeting more workers," The Indian Express claimed, citing sources.

Initial investigations have shown that the terrorists planted a grenade inside a parked vehicle at the camp before shooting the driver.

After recording the statements of the injured and a security guard who managed to flee, it was revealed that the workers initially believed some people were setting off firecrackers. However, within two to three minutes, they recognised it was a terrorist attack, according to the report.

The attackers were armed with an M4 carbine assault weapon and an AK-47, with 37 to 40 spent cartridges found on the site.

Officials stated that the police picked locals for interrogation because investigators have yet to identify the attackers, who are believed to be foreigners.

The top police, army, and CRPF officers made numerous visits to the site. According to the officers, two of the terrorists involved could have recently entered the Valley through the Bandipora region.

When the attackers sneaked into the camp, there were over 200 workers and police there.
