In a head-on collision between a pickup vehicle and a bus in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, ten labourers were killed and twenty-seven were injured.

Bulandshahr: Tragic accident claims 10 labourers' lives on their way home for Rakhi festival

PTC News Desk: Ten labourers lost their lives, and 27 others were injured in a devastating accident when a pickup van collided head-on with a bus in the Salempur area of Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday. The crash occurred on the Budaun-Meerut state highway.

According to District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh, the pickup van was traveling from Ghaziabad to Sambhal when it collided with a private bus. The injured were promptly rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.


The laborers were employed by Britannia and were en route to their native village in Aligarh to celebrate Rakshabandhan. Four of them had boarded the vehicle from Dadri.

Bulandshahr Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shlok Kumar reported that the injured individuals have been admitted to hospitals in Bulandshahr, Meerut, and Aligarh. Among them, one person remains in critical condition. The ten deceased were men, while the 27 injured included women and children from their families.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences and directed officials to ensure the best possible medical care for the injured. Videos circulating on social media revealed the van reduced to wreckage, with significant damage to the front of the bus.
