Badaun double murder: Barber invades UP residence, requests tea, tragically kills two children

PTC News Desk: In a harrowing incident unfolding in the heart of Uttar Pradesh's Badaun district, a barber, embroiled in a dispute with a local resident, breached the sanctity of his home and brutally ended the lives of two innocent children. The chilling episode, which sent shockwaves through the city, culminated in a swift police response, resulting in the perpetrator's demise in an encounter.

The perpetrator, identified as Sajid, operated a barbershop in close proximity to the victims' residence in Baba Colony, fostering a semblance of acquaintance with the children's father, Vinod. On a fateful Tuesday evening, Sajid intruded into the family's abode under the pretext of amicable interaction, ostensibly requesting a cup of tea. However, his intentions veered sinister as he seized an opportunity when the family momentarily vacated the room.

Ascending to the terrace where Vinod's three sons—Aayush (13), Ahaan (7), and Piyush (6)—engaged in innocent play, Sajid callously perpetrated his heinous act. Swiftly and mercilessly, he slit the throats of the two elder siblings and callously assaulted the youngest before fleeing the scene. Tragically, Aayush and Ahaan succumbed to their grievous injuries, while Piyush narrowly escaped with minor wounds.

However, justice, albeit delayed, swiftly caught up with Sajid as law enforcement apprehended him in close proximity to the crime scene. Unwilling to face the consequences of his abominable deeds, Sajid brazenly assaulted the pursuing officers, compelling them to resort to lethal force in self-defense, ultimately resulting in his demise in a police encounter.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the motive behind Sajid's reprehensible actions stemmed from a festering dispute with the children's father, Vinod. The incident incited unrest among the local populace, prompting authorities to swiftly intervene and assuage tensions. Budaun District Magistrate, Manoj Kumar, urged residents to maintain calm and assured them of a thorough investigation into the tragic affair.

"We received distressing reports this evening of a barbaric intrusion resulting in the loss of two innocent lives. In the wake of this tragedy, the community's agitation is understandable. However, I implore all citizens to exercise restraint and allow the law enforcement agencies to conduct a comprehensive inquiry. The bodies of the deceased have been dispatched for post-mortem examination," affirmed Kumar in a statement to news agency ANI.

As the community grapples with the aftermath of this senseless tragedy, the untimely demise of two innocent souls serves as a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the imperative of fostering peace and harmony within society.
