PTC Web Desk: The British Deputy High Commission in Chandigarh commemorated King Charles III’s birthday with an elegant celebration on Tuesday. This annual event pays homage to His Majesty, who serves as the UK's Head of State, and highlights his impactful contributions to causes spanning environmental sustainability, arts, healthcare, and education.
King Charles III has long-standing connections with India, especially with Chandigarh and Punjab. His visits include a 2006 trip to Chandigarh, Patiala, Anandpur Sahib, and Fatehgarh Sahib, followed by a return to Patiala in 2010, where he engaged with the Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) in Chandigarh on urban environmental discussions. He also visited Hansali village in Fatehgarh Sahib to discuss organic farming. In 2013, he toured the Indian Military Academy, The Doon School, and the Forest Research Institute in Dehradun.
