Related Security Incident Involving Air India

In a separate but related incident earlier on the same day, an Air India flight from Mumbai to New York was diverted to Delhi due to security concerns stemming from a bomb threat. The flight, designated AI119, was en route to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) when it received a "specific security alert." Acting on the directives of the government's security regulatory committee, the aircraft was rerouted to Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.

Delhi Police confirmed that the aircraft is currently stationed at the airport, with all standard safety protocols being observed to safeguard the passengers and crew. An Air India spokesperson reported that all passengers had safely disembarked and are currently at the terminal in Delhi.

Authorities are conducting thorough investigations into both incidents, ensuring that passenger safety remains the top priority. The swift response to the bomb threats highlights the effectiveness of security protocols in the aviation sector, aiming to prevent any potential threats to air travel.

As the situation develops, passengers are urged to stay informed through official airline communications and follow any instructions provided by security personnel.
