Bomb scare: Akasa Airlines makes emergency landing after flight receives bomb threat
Bomb threat in Airlines: In a tense and havoc incident on Saturday, flight of Akasa Airlines from Mumbai to Varanasi makes an emergency landing at Varanasi Airport after receiving a bomb threat through a tweet on social media.
Tension, panic and chaos erupted at Varanasi Airport as aircraft landed on a separate runway and with 166 passengers onboard Akasa Airlines were asked disembarked immediately at Varanasi Airport.

Moreover, as a part of established security protocol, authorities of Varanasi Airport immediately notified all 16 airports from which they operate of the potential bomb threat. This proactive step ensured increased monitoring in regions where Akasa flights may be present or scheduled to arrive or depart.
As per the information, the Air Traffic Control informed the captain of the plane about the bomb threat after which all possible emergency procedures were followed and the plane was landed at Varanasi.
The alarming call prompted the authorities to evacuate the passengers and move the aircraft to an isolation bay for thorough inspection.
Following the swift investigation and testing conducted by CISF personnel for about an hour, nothing was found during checking and the authorities confirmed that the bomb threat was hoax.

Varanasi Airport Director Puneet Gupta said “Everything is normal. When information about the bomb was received, the airport authority took full precautions and checked and everything was found to be normal. This flight was coming to Varanasi only and it had to land here. Yes as a precautionary measure it landed on a separate runway.”
