Hit by heat : In a horrific and dreadful incident, intensifying heatwave sweeping across India, the town of Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh witnessed a shocking sight as birds and bats were found dead, having fallen from trees due to the soaring temperatures.

In Ratlam, temperatures have exceeded 45 degrees Celsius, causing several bats to die from sunstroke. A viral video captured bats lying on the ground, with one struggling to survive.

A similar distressing situation has been reported in the Balaghat district, where numerous birds have been found dehydrated.

The video depicting the plight of these birds has gained significant traction on social media platforms, prompting local residents to express concern and advocate for proactive measures to assist them during these challenging times. They are encouraging people to place water for birds and other animals outside as a simple yet impactful gesture of compassion amid the scorching heat.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a 'Red Alert' for a heatwave in Ratlam, indicating the severity of the situation. Officials are cautioning the public about the prolonged high temperatures and advising everyone to take necessary precautions. 

Therefore, it is essential to stay cool, stay hydrated, and extend a helping hand to our avian companions during this heatwave.
