Bengaluru court rejects Prajwal Revanna's bail plea in sexual assault case
PTC News Desk: Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) leader Prajwal Revanna was suspended by the Special People Representative Court after it denied his bail request. Revanna is an accused rape. Along with his father, HD Revanna, he is charged in a case that was filed at the Karnataka police station at Holenarasipura.
A Special Investigation Team, formed to look into claims that the 33-year-old was involved in sexual offenses, is currently detaining him. Shortly before the Lok Sabha Elections of 2024, explicit videos allegedly featuring him appeared. The ex-MP was brought into custody on May 31 shortly after his return from Germany, where he had taken up residence while the Karnataka police looked into allegations of his having sexually abused women.
"Just before the Lok Sabha elections on April 26, pen drives apparently containing obscene recordings of Revanna began to circulate around Hassan, sparking allegations of sexual abuse. Following the filing of these cases against him, the JD-S suspended him from the party.

He left for Germany on April 27, the day after the Hassan votes. At the SIT's request, the Interpol sent out a "Blue Corner Notice" via the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in an attempt to track him down.
According to authorities, Suraj Revanna, the brother of former MP Prajwal Revanna, has also been arrested on suspicion of sexually abusing several women.
He was charged on Saturday under many IPC provisions, including "unnatural offences," for allegedly attacking a party worker lately. JD-S leader and former prime minister HD Deve Gowda's grandchildren are Prajwal and Suraj Revanna.
