Beant Singh assassination: SC adjourns Balwant Singh Rajoana's petition; next hearing on Nov 18
Beant Singh assassination: The Supreme Court on Monday adjourned the petition filed by death-row prisoner Balwant Singh Rajoana, who was given death sentence for assassination of then Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh in 1995. The next hearing has been scheduled for November 18.
Rajoana, a former Punjab Police constable, filed the plea before the Supreme Court due to the government's delay in deciding on his mercy petition.
He has been in jail for almost 29 years.
