Arvind Kejriwal to resign as Delhi Chief Minister, says 'My fate in voters' hands'
PTC News Desk: Days after his release from Tihar Jail in connection with the liquor policy case, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Sunday his decision to resign from his position within the next 48 hours. He emphasized that the future of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and his role as Chief Minister would be determined by the verdict of the public.
In his statement, Kejriwal declared, "I will resign from the Chief Minister's office in two days. I will not occupy the Chief Minister's chair until the people deliver their verdict. I plan to visit every home and street, and will not return to the chair until I receive a clear verdict from the voters."

He also indicated that a new Chief Minister would be appointed shortly, with the decision to be made during a cabinet meeting scheduled to occur in the next two days.
Kejriwal asserted that despite the "conspiracies" orchestrated by the central government, his determination remained unshaken. He accused the current administration of being more authoritarian than British colonial rule and vowed to persist in his efforts for the nation's benefit.
Reflecting on his prison experience, Kejriwal recounted that he had sent only one letter during his incarceration—addressed to the Lieutenant Governor on Independence Day. The letter requested permission for his associate, Atishi, to hoist the national flag in his absence. This letter was returned, accompanied by a warning that any further correspondence would result in a ban on family visits.
Kejriwal expressed his gratitude to the people of Delhi for their ongoing support and mentioned that AAP leaders Satyendar Jain and Amanatullah Khan, who are currently imprisoned, would soon be released. He also shared that during his time in jail, he had occupied himself by reading texts such as the Ramayana, Gita, and Bhagat Singh’s prison diary.
