PTC News Desk: AAP chief and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will soon leave the official residence in the city's Civil Lines area. An extensive search is underway for a new home near Kejriwal's New Delhi constituency, the party announced on Saturday.

Kejriwal, who resigned as Delhi chief minister earlier this month, said he will leave his official Flagstaff Road residence during the Navratri festival. The auspicious Hindu festival begins during the first week of October.

"Arvind Kejriwal will vacate the CM residence soon and his search for his new accommodation has been intensified. Kejriwal is prioritising locations near his assembly constituency New Delhi, as he intends to remain connected with the people there," AAP said.

With the Delhi Assembly elections just a few months away, the AAP national convener is "keenly focused" on selecting a property that will allow him to make the most use of his time and resources, the party announced.

He is looking for a location that will not only serve as a base for his work but also allow him to travel and keep connected to every aspect of the city and its citizens, according to the report.

According to the party, AAP MLAs, councillors, workers, and common people are offering accommodation to the former chief minister, regardless of their social, economic, or political background. Some have asked him to live with them, others have given shared spaces, and many have left rooms vacant for him to stay, it said.

According to the statement, Kejriwal has received offers of staying from all over the city, including Defence Colony, Pitampura, Jor Bagh, Chanakyapuri, Greater Kailash, Vasant Vihar, and Hauz Khas.

The former Delhi chief minister is looking for a property free of encumbrances and disputes, according to reports.

The AAP has sought that the Central government provide an official accommodation for Kejriwal's status as president of a national party. Kejriwal lives with his family, which includes his wife, children, and elderly parents.
