'5th in nine days': Another under-construction bridge collapses in Bihar; Tejashwi Yadav blasts Nitish govt
PTC Web Desk: Another under-construction bridge collapsed in Bihar, making it the fifth such incident in nine days. The incident took place in the state's Madhubani region on Friday.
The 75 m long bridge was being built at a cost of Rs 3 crore and has been under construction since 2021. The bridge was being constructed under the Rural Works Department of the Bihar government.
As water levels rose, a 25-meter-long supporting pillar toppled into the river below. The fallen pillars were covered in enormous tarpaulin sheets, according to photos from the site.
Opposition leader in Bihar assembly Tejashwi Yadav slammed the Nitish Kumar government after the bridge collapse.
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Bihar deputy chief minister took to X and shared a video regarding the collapse of the bridge, saying, “This is the 5th bridge to collapse in Bihar within 9 days. A bridge under construction for years on the Bhootahi River between Madhubani-Supaul collapsed. Did you find out? If not, why? Try to find out? #Bihar #Bridge.”
