Amritpal Singh, who just won the parliamentary election as an Independent from Khadoor Sahib in Punjab, has been granted four days of parole starting July 5 to take his oath as a Lok Sabha member.

Amritpal Singh release: 10 conditions under which MP-elect has been granted parole

Amritpal Singh release: Amritpal Singh, who just won the parliamentary election as an Independent from Khadoor Sahib in Punjab, has been granted four days of parole starting July 5 to take his oath as a Lok Sabha member.

Amritpal, who was detained under the stringent National Security Act and imprisoned in the high-security Dibrugarh jail in Assam, is expected to be transferred to Delhi by helicopter, according to police officials. A senior police official said the oath would be administered on July 5.


Here are 10 conditions under which Amritpal Singh has been granted parole

1. According to the release orders, Amritpal Singh shall be accompanied by an adequate number of police officers, as decided by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritsar (Rural). He will be accompanied by the officers from the moment he is released from Central Jail Dibrugarh till he returns there.

2. While in the Parliament building, the 'Waris Punjab De' chief will be accompanied by as many police or security officers as the Secretary General of Lok Sabha allows.

3. He is not allowed to leave New Delhi during his interim release.

 

4. The temporary release period includes the journey from Central Jail Dibrugarh to New Delhi and return.

5. When he is not required in Parliament, he will reside in a place in New Delhi decided on by the Superintendent of Police, Amritsar (Rural), based on security concerns. 

6. Amritpal Singh's relatives, as described in Section 2(c) of the Punjab Detenue (Condition of Detention) Order, 1981, are allowed to meet with him while in New Delhi. 

7. Amritpal Singh must not take any action or make any statements that might harm national security. 

8. Neither Amritpal Singh nor his relatives can record or share any of his statements in electronic form.

9. Amritpal Singh's travel, accommodation, and local travel expenses in Delhi shall be covered by the Director General of Police, Punjab budget.

10. The Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritsar (Rural), will collaborate with the Secretary General of the Lok Sabha to ensure that these conditions are met.
