Amid PM Modi's visit, US likely to deport second batch of illegal immigrants to India
PTC News Desk: The United States will soon be deporting second batch of illegal immigrants from the country. the second batch will consist of approximately 17-180 illegal immigrants. These are the same individuals who entered US via lllegal routes or infamous dunkey routes while spending lakhs and crores of rupees.
However Indian officials have not confirmed the development yet, the US administration sources have said that the deportation is likely to take place in the coming week only.
Earlier the first batch with 104 deportees landed in Amritsar, however the location of second batch has not been disclosed yet. The US action comes as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Washington to hold wide-ranging talks with President Donald Trump.
Of the deportees, 30 are from Punjab, 33 each from Haryana and Gujarat, three from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, and two from Chandigarh. Previously, a US military C-17 plane was used to transport the illegal immigrants back. After verification and background checks, the deportees are expected to return home. The police will prioritize identifying any deportee with a criminal history.
