Air India becomes first Indian airline to offer in-flight Wi-Fi services

PTC Web Desk: Air India has launched in-flight Wi-Fi internet connectivity for passengers travelling on domestic and international flights. The service is currently available on its widebody Airbus A350, Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, and select Airbus A321neo aircraft, making Air India the first airline in India to provide such connectivity on domestic routes.

Passengers can access Wi-Fi on multiple devices, including laptops, tablets, and smartphones running iOS or Android, once the aircraft reaches an altitude of 10,000 feet. This feature allows seamless connectivity during flights, the airline stated.

The rollout follows a successful pilot programme on international routes, including flights to New York, London, Paris, and Singapore. Air India is offering complimentary Wi-Fi access during the introductory phase, with plans to expand the service to other aircraft in its fleet gradually. This development marks a significant step toward enhancing passenger experience and setting new standards in Indian aviation.
