PTC Web Desk: In the midst of an intense rainfall on Saturday, a canopy collapsed at the passenger pickup and drop area outside Gujarat's Rajkot Airport. The incident took place a day after a similar incident at Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal 1.

According to initial information, there were no reports of injuries or casualties.

Meanwhile, Gujarat is experiencing heavy rainfall as the southwest monsoon moves further into the state. Seven teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been deployed in the districts of Kutch, Rajkot, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Gir Somnath, Bhavnagar, Narmada, and Valsad in anticipation of heavy to very heavy rainfall in some areas.

Delhi Airport roof collapse incident

A portion of the roof collapsed at Indira Gandhi International Airport's Terminal 1 in the early hours, killing a 45-year-old taxi driver and injuring eight others.

The incident resulted in an indefinite suspension of operations at Terminal 1, which handles approximately 200 flights per day. Delhi Airport, operated by Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), reported that a roof at Terminal 1's old departure forecourt partially collapsed around 5 a.m. on Friday. While the cause of the collapse is unknown, it is thought to be due to heavy rainfall and winds.
