AAP supremo Kejriwal questions deployment of Gujarat police for security; BJP hits back

PTC News Desk: Former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has questioned the objective behind deployment of Gujarat cops, few days after Punjab police officials were removed from security cover.

The Election Commission on Thursday directed withdrawal of Punjab police personnel from Kejriwal’s security cover.  On Saturday, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener took to X and shared screenshots of a Gujarat Police order issued to this effect and expressed discontentment over the same.

While responding to the objection, top sources in Delhi police have said that when elections are held in any state of the country, the Election Commission calls the police personnel from different states for poll duty.

Meanwhile, for the Delhi elections, 250 police companies were demanded from the poll panel, but the Delhi Police received only 220 companies who came from different states, sources said.

Soon after Kejriwal's objection, BJP took a sharp dig at Kejriwal and said that the AAP chief is fearing defeat in the upcoming Delhi elections and hence making such remarks.
