AAP's Mahesh Kumar Khichi elected Delhi mayor
PTC News Desk: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Mahesh Kumar Khichi on Thursday won Delhi mayoral polls. Khichi, an AAP councillor from Karol Bagh's Dev Nagar ward, defeated BJP candidate Kishan Lal (Shakurpur ward).
Khinchi, Delhi's first Dalit Mayor, received 133 votes while the BJP's Kishan Pal received 130 votes in the election, which took place Thursday evening after a lot of chaos and disruption, including a walkout by Congress members.
The BJP had 120 members but received 10 more votes.
Khinchi's term will be limited to five months, as the election has been delayed since April.
