91-year-old among diaspora who arrive in Sydney on 'Modi Airways' to greet PM Modi

Sydney (Australia), May 23: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was greeted warmly when he arrived in Australia on Sunday to begin a three-day visit.

According to The Australia Today, among those gathered to greet PM Modi was 91-year-old Dr Navamani Chandra Bose, who travelled from Melbourne to meet the Indian prime minister in Sydney.


She was brimming with energy and enthusiasm, and she was overjoyed to be travelling by "Modi Airways." "Very happy today and it's going to be a great event," she said.

The special charted flight that took off from Melbourne Tullamarine Airport was full of Indians from across Australia and arrived this morning for the diaspora event in Sydney.

During PM Modi's visit to Australia, the Prime Ministers of both nations will attend a community gathering in Sydney to honour Australia's dynamic and diverse Indian diaspora, which the Australian government described as "a core part of our multicultural community."

According to Australia Today, 177 individuals had reserved seats on the special "Modi Airways" trip from Melbourne to Sydney.

Navamani Chandra Bose, 91, was among the passengers on the flight. Dr. Navamani was accompanied by her daughter, who stated that she is the wife of NS Chandra Bose, the President of the Indian Medical Association from 1991 to 1992 and the President of the Tamil Nadu State Bharatiya Janata Party from 1995 to 1997.
