9-year-old boy kidnapped after evening prayers near Mumbai, brutally murdered for Rs 23 lakh
PTC News Desk: A horrifying incident unfolded in Goregaon village, situated in Thane's Badlapur, Maharashtra, as a 9-year-old boy was abducted and subsequently murdered by a local tailor. The tragic sequence of events transpired Sunday evening, following the boy's evening prayers at his neighborhood mosque.
According to authorities, the primary suspect identified as Salman Maulvi, a resident tailor, harbored financial aspirations to construct a new dwelling. With this motive in mind, Salman devised a sinister plan to abduct the young boy, Ibad, with the intention of extorting a hefty ransom of Rs 23 lakh from his family.
As Ibad failed to return home post-prayers, his family initiated a frantic search upon realising his absence. Their worst fears materialised when Ibad's father, Muddasir, received a chilling ransom demand for his son's safe return. However, the call abruptly terminated, leaving the family in a state of distress.
In response to Ibad's disappearance, both the local police and villagers launched extensive search operations. While the authorities meticulously combed through leads, the villagers mobilised to locate the missing child. Concurrently, the kidnapper attempted to evade capture by altering SIM cards in his mobile phone.
