A shooting at the residence of Samajwadi Party leader and former corporator Vijay Yadav in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi injured six people, including a six-year-old child.

6-year-old among six injured in shooting at Samajwadi Party leader's house

PTC Web Desk: A shooting at the residence of Samajwadi Party leader and former corporator Vijay Yadav in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi injured six people, including a six-year-old child.

The police reported that the incident occurred on Sunday in the Dashashavmedh area.


According to the police, the SP leader claimed in his complaint that the attack was carried out with the intent of killing his entire family.

An FIR has been filed against the accused Ankit Yadav, Shobhit Verma, Govind Yadav, Sahil Yadav, and other unidentified individuals.

The injured are Nirbhay Yadav (6), Kiran Yadav, Umesh Yadav, Dinesh Yadav, and Shubham alias Golu. All of them are currently receiving treatment at a hospital and are said to be in stable condition.

Mohit Agarwal, the Varanasi police commissioner, has suspended Rakesh Pal, the officer in charge (SI) of the Dashashavmedh police station.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Pramod Kumar stated that every effort is being made to track the accused and that measures under the Uttar Pradesh Gangs and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act and the National Security Act will be taken against them.
