PTC News Desk: At least 35 have been killed as Telangana and Andhra Pradesh continue to witness unprecedented rainfall and floods over the past three days.

Heavy rains damaged roads and rail tracks, swamped thousands of acres of crops, and left people scrambling for essentials, while agencies engaged in relief and rescue operations.

At least 16 people have been killed in rain-related accidents in Telangana and 19 in nearby Andhra Pradesh, as a continuous downpour triggered by a depression in the Bay of Bengal has disturbed regular life in the two southern states.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts more rain in some regions of both states on Tuesday.

The MeT office stated that Telangana received more severe rainfall than usual and predicted heavy rains for Adilabad, Nizamabad, and Nirmal districts on Tuesday. Heavy rain is also expected in isolated areas of Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Jagtial, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy districts until 8.30 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the weather agency.
