Muktsar Police get gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's transit remand
Hoshiarpur, July 21: After the remand of Lawrence Bishnoi ended, the gangster was produced before the Hoshiarpur court on Thursday. The Court has granted Lawrence Bishnoi's transit remand to Muktsar Police. Lawrence Bishnoi was produced in the Hoshiarpur court at 8:30 a.m amid security arrangements. A heavy police force was deployed outside the Court and police officers equipped with modern weaponry were stationed everywhere. Earlier, the Hoshiarpur police had reportedly taken Lawrence Bishnoi for questioning in the 2019 ransom case. In this case, a ransom was demanded from the liquor contractor and the trader and in case of non-receipt of ransom, the trader's house was fired upon. Also Read | India to get its 15th President today: Counting to begin at 11 am at Parliament House Notably, the Model Town police station had filed a case in 2019 under Sections 307 and 336 of the Arms Act against unidentified individuals based on the statements of Malkit Singh, the liquor contractor's gunman. Bishnoi's attorney, Pankaj Bedi, asserted that the gangster had nothing to do with the case that had been filed in 2019 because he was in the Bhagatgarh jail at the time.
