Met Gala 2022: Elon Musk makes first public appearance post Twitter takeover
Washington (US), May 3: Tesla CEO Elon Musk surprised everyone by making an appearance at the fashion event - Met Gala 2022. It was his first public appearance since he bought Twitter for USD 44 billion.
The 50-year-old entrepreneur graced the Met Gala carpet with his supermodel mother Maye Musk, 74. He donned a classic black tuxedo with coattails and a matching bow tie to the event. When asked about his outfit for the occasion, Musk stated, "Just following the dress code".
According to People, Maye sported an ankle-length burgundy velvet dress, dazzling strapped heels, long pearls, and a regal gold clutch.
Elon also revealed his Twitter goals with Vogue at the Met Gala.

"Assuming everything gets done, would be to make Twitter as inclusive as possible," Elon said. He further added that he would like to "have the rest of the world on Twitter, and that they find it interesting, entertaining and funny, and that it makes their life better."
With the completion of the takeover, which is expected by the end of this year, Twitter will become a privately owned company.
Met Gala 2022 coincides with the opening of the second part of a two-part exhibit at the Costume Institute focused on American fashion and style. The dress code for the evening was gilded glamour and white tie, a la the Gilded Age, that tumultuous period between the Civil War and the turn of the twentieth century known for its robber barons, drama, and grandeur.
