Maoist leader CP Jaleel killed in encounter with Kerala police
Maoist leader C.P. Jaleel was killed in an encounter between Maoists and Kerala police in Vythiri in Kerala on Wednesday night. During the gunfire, two police officers also received bullet injuries.

The encounter started at around 9:30 pm. Kerela police launched a combing drive in the area after receiving intelligence reports. During which gunfire between the police and Maoists started. The traffic was also disrupted on the national highway. During the encounter, Maoist leader was killed and two police officers were injured. The injured were rushed to a hospital nearby.

The encounter continued until the early hours of Thursday morning. While briefing the media, police said that it had confirmed that Maoist leader arrived at Vythiri a few days ago. Following which they made a plan to nab the Maoist leader CP Jaleel.
