Imphal West (Manipur), February 14: Ahead of the Manipur Assembly elections, Defence Minister and BJP leader Rajnath Singh on Monday said the BJP wanted to root out corruption by bringing change in the system.
Addressing a public rally at Langthabal in Manipur, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, "No one has been able to level allegations of corruption against any minister of the BJP government at the Centre. We want to root out corruption by bringing change in the system."
Speaking further, Rajnath Singh said since the BJP came to power in Manipur, the state had witnessed development. Under the BJP government, road, rail and air connectivity in the region had improved, he added.

"After the BJP came to power in Manipur, the state witnessed development. During the BJP-led government road, rail and air connectivity in the region improved," the Defence Minister added.
Earlier, Manipur BJP in-charge Sambit Patra on Saturday said the end story of the Congress began in 2014 and the 2022 Manipur election would add a new chapter to the story.
"Recently, I was listening to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech in Rudrapur in Uttarakhand. And I am assured that the BJP is marching towards grand victory and will create a history by winning the elections in five states with huge margins," he added.
"I am thankful to PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for giving inner line permit to Manipur. Manipur is the state of jewel (Money). As far as law and order are concerned, the state was reduced to strikes and blockades but thanks to PM Modi and Biren Singh's government that today there are no strikes. There is peace and development in the state. The law and order has been established," he added.

In every sector, Manipur had progressed and showed historical achievement in several sectors, he added.
The Assembly elections in Manipur will be held on February 27 and March 3. Votes will be counted on March 10.
