Major fire at Ludhiana railway station, no causalities reported
Ludhiana, July 9: A fire broke out in a passenger train parked on platform No. 4 at Ludhiana station of Ferozepur division of Northern Railway on Saturday morning.
It is learned that the train was bound for Hisar at 3:20 pm. The train was supposed to run from Ludhiana but immediately caught fire. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Let it be known that today ADGP Gurpreet Kaur has to check at Ludhiana station. Immediately after fire took place police officers reached at the spot and started inspecting the security arrangements at the station.

In-charge of GRP police station Jaskaran Singh, said that it was a passenger train which was coming from Hisar and was parked at Ludhiana station and was bound for Amritsar but when it was parked at the station, one of its coaches suddenly caught fire.
But however, there were no passengers in the coach at the time of the fire, which averted a major accident.
Large number of crowd began to gather on platform number 4.
When police saw the crowd gathering, they found that the train car had caught fire.
The flames started coming out.
Seeing the flames, GRP and RPF personnel immediately rushed to put out the blaze. The fire was brought under control with the help of fire extinguishers.
