Madhya Pradesh: 6 COVID-19 patients die due to oxygen shortage in hospital
Madhya Pradesh oxygen shortage: In a shocking incident, six COVID-19 patients, admitted at a government hospital in Madhya Pradesh's Shahdol, died in an ICU due to the low pressure in the supply of medical oxygen.
According to the information, the incident took place at the Government Medical College Hospital Shahdol in Madhya Pradesh on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.

The dean Dr Milind Shiralkar, said that “Out of 62 patients admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) ward of COVID-19 centre, 6 patients died due to low pressure of liquid oxygen,"
He added that the other serious patients were safe. Meanwhile, the experts have been called to find out the cause of the incident.

The dean also said that there had been a shortage of liquid oxygen supply at the hospital by late Saturday evening. Despite contacting the suppliers consecutively but the vehicle did not reach till late night, he said.
Even as the Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Kamal Nath asked how many more people have to die due to shortage of oxygen in the state.
“Now very sad news of deaths due to lack of oxygen is coming from Shahdol? Why didn't the government wake up even after deaths in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Sagar, Jabalpur, Khandwa, Khargone due to shortage of oxygen? After all, how long will deaths continue due to lack of oxygen in the state?” he tweeted.
