Ludhiana MLA Gurpreet Gogi gets extortion call; 'threatened' to be killed like Moosewala
Amritsar: Aam Aadmi Party MLA Gurpreet Singh Gogi from Ludhiana on Wednesday filed a complaint on receiving death threat via unknown call. According the MLA, caller identifies himself as close of aide of gangster Goldy Brar, key accused in Sidhu Moosewala murder case. Also Read| Zoonotic Langya virus hits China, 35 infected so far According to the information given by Gogi, the accused has asked him to deposit 25 lakh rupees in his account, otherwise MLA will too meet fate of Sidhu Moosewala. Gogi said that he has filed a complaint to Ludhiana Police Commissioner Kaustubh Sharma in this matter. MLA Gurpreet Singh Gogi says that these calls have been coming for the last 10 days and the caller talks in Punjabi. After the complaint given by the MLA, the police has started an investigation. The cyber cell of the police is working on it. Gurpreet Singh Gogi is the former district president of Congress and the former chairperson of Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation. Before the 2022 elections, he left the Congress and joined the Aam Aadmi Party. He contested the elections from the western assembly constituency and became an MLA by defeating former cabinet minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu. He is also the most active among the Aam Aadmi Party MLAs in the municipal corporation and is often seen attending functions in luxury vehicles.
