LPG Price hike: Domestic cooking gas gets costlier, rates increased by Rs 50 per cylinder

Domestic cooking gas (LPG) prices have been increased by Rs 50 per cylinder on Tuesday, according to sources. The price hike comes in line with a surge in international energy rates. LPG rates have gone up for the first time since October 6, 2021. In the national capital, a 14.2-kg non-subsidised LPG cylinder would now cost Rs 949.50. Early in November, international oil prices were at USD 81-82 per barrel, compared to USD 114 currently. The price of a 19-kg commercial cylinder has increased to Rs 2003.50. The commercial LPG cylinder now cost Rs 105 more in Delhi, and rates were increased by Rs 108 in Kolkata. LPG Price Hike The hike in prices of domestic LPG cylinders comes after a spike in petrol and diesel rates, which were increased by over 80 paise/litre for the first time since November 2, 2021. The new prices, according to Indian Oil Corporation Limited, will take effect today, March 22. India's state-owned oil companies have not increased prices since November 4. LPG Price Hike: Petrol will now cost Rs 96.21 per litre in Delhi, up from Rs 95.41 earlier, and diesel will cost Rs 87.47 per litre, up from Rs 86.67 previously. Following a 40% increase in global oil prices due to the present Russia-Ukraine war, diesel prices for bulk users were raised by about Rs 25 per litre.
