Lakhimpur violence case: Allahabad HC denies bail to Ashish Mishra
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), July 26: The Allahabad High Court has denied bail to the son of Union Minister Ajay Mishra, Ashish, in connection with the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case.
On Tuesday, the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court rejected the bail petition of the primary accused Ashish Mishra.
Notably, four farmers died in the Lakhimpur after main accused Mishra allegedly mowed them down during a protest.
The accused and his car was present there and this is the major fact that this case comes under the category of a heinous crime, said the High Court.
Ashish Mishra has been facing a case of murder for the incident that took place on October 3, 2021, in which eight people, including four farmers, were killed in the Lakhimpur Kheri.

Mishra allegedly ran over the farmers who were protesting against the Centre's three farm Laws. The Union Minister's son was arrested on October 9 and was granted bail in February 2022.
Since the Supreme Court had ordered a reconsideration of Mishra's bail plea in April 2022, the High Court had to consider his plea once more.
"The High Court shall decide the bail application afresh expeditiously, and preferably within a period of three months," a bench of Chief Justice of India NV Ramana with Justice Surya Kant and Justice Hima Kohli said.
The Supreme Court set aside the Allahabad High Court order dated February 10, 2022, and remit the matter back to the High Court.
The top court ruled that the Allahabad High Court's ruling cannot be sustained and has to be set aside and the bail bonds of the respondent/accused are cancelled. The Court then directed Mishra to surrender within a week.
