Lakhimpur Kheri case: SKM to hold protest against Centre over various demands
Lakhimpur Kheri (Uttar Pradesh), August 18: The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) is set to stage a protest against the Central government in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, beginning Thursday.
The 72-hour-long protest, demanding justice in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, will end on August 20.
Earlier on Wednesday, farmers from Punjab left for Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri to join the Samyukt Kisan Morcha's 72-hour protest against the Centre.
Farmers will protest in all districts of Uttar Pradesh, as well as in several other states, including Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan, sources said.
Farmers will also demand the withdrawal of cases filed against them during the previous stir, which was held in opposition to the Centre's now-withdrawn farm laws.

Eight people were killed in Lakhimpur Kheri violence that erupted on October 3 last year during the farmers' protest.
