Know all about new rules for IPL 2022
Days after Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) Laws sub-committee suggested several changes for the 2022 Code, the Indian Premier League (IPL) has announced new rules for IPL 2022.
According to IPL 2022 match playing conditions, each team will be allowed two unsuccessful DRS requests in each innings. Upon getting caught, the incoming batter will take strike in any case. Earlier, if the batsmen used to cross each other before getting caught, the other person approaching the keeper's side used to face the ball.

As per the new condition, if BCCI will not be able to reschedule a match due to a franchise not being able to field a team over Covid-19, it will refer the issue to IPL Technical Committee.
The development comes days after Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) Laws sub-committee suggested several changes for the 2022 Code, which were subsequently approved at the Club's Main Committee meeting.
'Mankad' has been shifted from 'unfair-play' to run-out category while using saliva on the ball has been permanently banned.
Until now, any member of the fielding side who moved unfairly was punished only with a 'Dead ball' - potentially cancelling a perfectly good shot by the batter. Given the action is both unfair and deliberate, it will now see the batting side awarded 5 Penalty runs.
There are many more suggestions made by the Marylebone Cricket Club.
