Kisan Shakti has the power to wipe out BJP: Sukhbir Singh Badal
Amid farmers protest against farm laws 2020, the Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal on Tuesday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been misusing the National Investigative Agency (NIA) against farmers. "Kisan Shakti has the power to wipe out BJP. Centre is deceiving farmers and Supreme Court’s 3-member panel can’t play any constructive role in resolving the issues around the Agri laws," the Shiromani Akali Dal President said. Sukhbir Singh Badal said on the issuance of NIA notices against farmers. He further slammed Congress legislators and said: "Warning Congress legislators and officers who are getting false cases registered against Opposition leaders and workers. Once Shiromani Akali Dal forms govt in 2022, will form a commission and submit a report on such cases within 3 months and prompt action will be taken against them." Now, Congress trying desperately to piggy-back on Kisan agitation with Rahul Gandhi posing as a champion of farmers' cause." Furthermore, she asked: "Will Mr Gandhi explain to Punjab farmers why Captain Amarinder Singh in the first place gave his consent for these laws as part of the Central Committee and also implemented them in Punjab as promised in his 2017 manifesto?" The farmers' protest has been intensified against the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, and Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
