Indian Army is inviting applications from unmarried male candidates for a Permanent Commission in the Army under the Technical Entry Scheme (TES-53). Candidates who have passed the class 12 exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) and participated in the JEE (Mains) 2024 are eligible for the position.

TES 53 Entry 2024: Indian Army invites applications for technical entry scheme

TES 53 Entry 2024: The Indian Army is inviting applications from unmarried male candidates for a Permanent Commission in the Army under the Technical Entry Scheme (TES-53). Candidates who have passed the class 12 exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) and participated in the JEE (Mains) 2024 are eligible for the position.

Candidates must be between 16½ and 19½ years of age to apply for the position. He should not be born before January 2, 2006, or after January 2009 (both days inclusive).


The candidate applying for the position shall not have been debarred from taking any UPSC examinations. He should not have been arrested, convicted by a criminal court, or involved in any court case. 

Type of commission

Cadets who successfully complete the four-year course will be granted Permanent Commission in the Army with the rank of Lieutenant.

Award of degree

After successfully completing four years of course, the candidates will receive an Engineering degree. Candidates who hold this Engineering degree will not be eligible for antedate seniority. According to JNU Ordinance, a maximum of two relegations on academic grounds shall be granted during the course of four years of training. Any further relegation on academic grounds will result in withdrawal from training. 

Fixed stipend 

Gentlemen cadets will be paid a stipend of Rs 56,100, the same as NDA cadets, upon completion of their three-year training. After four years of training, they will be commissioned as Lieutenants and entitled to salary commensurate with their position.

The deadline to submit applications is November 7, 2024.
