He alleged that the fraudulent conversion of Sikhs and Hindus of Punjab into Christianity was happening under the noose of the Punjab Government. He alleged due to vote bank politics, no action was being taken against these fake pastors. "If someone indulges in such vile acts with the help of hypocrisy, then it is a punishable crime under the Indian Constitution, but no action is being taken by the government against these hypocrites," added the Jathedar. He said Nihang Singhs from the state had been submitting applications to the police administration for the past 6 months, but no action had been taken. He said forced religious conversion would never be tolerated in Punjab. "When the law does not allow forced religious conversion, then how is this movement flourishing at the border level of the state," said Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh, while demanding that cases registered against the Nihang Singhs be withdrawn immediately.
