An encounter starts between militants and security forces in Kellam area of Devsar in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday morning.

The security forces including personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Special Operations Group (SOG) of the state police cordoned off the area.

According to a police official, the gunfight started after security forces launched search operation in Kelgam following input about the presence of terrorists in the area.

Meanwhile,Mobile internet services have been suspended in south Kashmir's Kelgam district.

Earlier this week, four Hizbul Mujahideen militants were killed in Shopian district during a pre-dawn search operation. An Army paratrooper was also killed in the encounter.
