IS suicide bomber planning terror attack in India held in Russia
Moscow (Russia), August 22: The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Monday that its officials had apprehended an Islamic State (IS) suicide bomber who was planning a terrorist attack against one of India's leadership elite, according to Russia's Sputnik news agency.
"Russia's FSB identified and detained a member of the Islamic State international terrorist organization banned in Russia, a native of a country in the Central Asian region, who planned to commit a terrorist act by blowing himself up against one of the representatives of the ruling circles of India," a statement released by the authority read.
The held suspect was recruited by one of the IS leaders as a suicide bomber in Turkey, the statement further said.

The Islamic State and all of its manifestations have been designated as terrorist organisations by the Central Government and are listed in the First Schedule to the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act of 1967.
According to the Home Ministry, IS is promoting its ideology through numerous internet-based social media platforms. The agencies concerned are keeping a careful eye on cyberspace in this regard, and action is being taken in accordance with the law.
