IPL 2021 Auction: From purse balance to remaining slots, all you need to know
IPL 2021 auction date: IPL 2021 player auction is all set to take place in Chennai on Thursday where a total of 292 players including some big names go under the hammer. All eight teams — Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad — would look to add some quality players to their squads.
Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) is having the highest purse balance remaining i.e. Rs 53.20 crore followed by Rajasthan Royals which has Rs 37.85 crore to spend.

It is pertinent to mention that the Board of Control for Cricket in India has made it mandatory for all eight teams to spend at least 75 percent of their total purse - Rs 85 crore.
Therefore, both Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals will be looking to spend the money on the players they want.
