Indira Gandhi tactics being used to sabotage Khalsa Panth will, SAD reacts to Manjinder Sirsa joining BJP
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Wednesday described Manjinder Singh Sirsa joining the BJP as just "one attempt by enemies of Khalsa Panth to achieve through conspiracies what they cannot achieve with the will of Sikh Quom".
“This is the continuation of Indira Gandhi tactics against 'Sikh Quom' and one more direct assault on the religious sovereignty of Khalsa Panth through the misuse of governmental might and the registration of false cases. Sikh Panth accepts this challenge and will meet it head on,” said the SAD.
Notably, Manjinder Singh Sirsa resigned from the DSGMC and joined the BJP on Wednesday.

“A case was registered against Manjinder Singh Sirsa, SAD Delhi president Jathedar Harmeet Singh Kalka and 11 other members of the DSGMC. While Kalka and all other members lived up to the traditions of Khalsa Panth in fighting repression, it is unfortunate that Sirsa buckled under pressure and betrayed Khalsa Panth and spirit,” the party said.
“Khalsa Panth is too big for any individual. Individuals come and go. Khalsa Panth goes on and will go on forever,” said a statement issued from the party headquarter.
“Khalsa Panth has been under attack since its birth. In modern times, first the British and then Indira Gandhi and other Congress leaders tried to sabotage our religious institutions through conspiracies, repression and sabotage. They tried to gain control of the SGPC and the DSGMC through the back door even though Khalsa Panth always backed the SAD and defeated every conspirator and traitor," said the statement.

“Khalsa Panth has defeated these conspiracies in the past and will defeat these again now. And will give a befitting response to these conspiracies," the statement added.
The statement further added that it was clear that "the enemies of Khalsa Panth can never win against the Sikh masses. So they always try to weaken quom by resorting to these conspiracies".
