IndiGo's Delhi -Vadodara flight suffers vibration in engines, diverted to Jaipur

New Delhi, July 15: IndiGo's Delhi to Vadodara flight was diverted safely to Jaipur as a precautionary measure following an engine snag on Thursday night.

According to reports, the flight faced engine vibrations after which pilots decided to divert the flight to Jaipur. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered a probe into the matter. “The Airbus A320 had taken off from Delhi at 7.30 pm. It faced vibrations in the engines for a fraction of a second. The pilots decided to divert to Jaipur as a precautionary measure,” said officials. An alternate aircraft was arranged for passengers. "An IndiGo flight 6E-859, operating between Delhi and Vadodara was diverted to Jaipur on 14 July 2022," an IndiGo spokesperson said.

"There was a caution message indicated to the pilot en route. As a precaution, the pilot diverted the aircraft to Jaipur for further checks. The passengers were accommodated on an alternate aircraft for their onward journey," he added. Many of the airline's aircraft maintenance technicians have taken sick leave over the past six days in protest of their meagre pay and to demand the restoration of salary that was cut during the COVID-19 outbreak.
