Indian Government releases three Pakistani prisoners and a baby
Amritsar (Punjab), March 26: The Government of India released three Pakistani prisoners and a baby and sent them back to their homeland on Saturday. According to the Protocol Officer (Police), Arun Pal, the Pakistani prisoners were identified as Samira, Ahmad Rajaa and Murtaja Ajgar Ali. He informed that all the three prisoners were sent to Pakistan via Attari Wagah Border. He further said that Samira, a Pakistani citizen, was caught in Bangalore and was sentenced to jail for three and a half years while she was pregnant with a baby girl. Pal added that the other two prisoners, Ahmad Rajaa and Murtaja Ajgar Ali, were caught while roaming around the border and informed that the Indian Government is sending them back after the completion of their punishment. Ahmad Rajaa said that he was apprehended while roaming near the border and will be sent to Pakistan after 21 months. Earlier this year, the Indian Government had repatriated twelve Pakistani prisoners, who have completed their sentences, via the Attari-Wagah land border in February. External Affairs Ministry had then said that government attaches the highest importance to addressing all humanitarian matters, including the early release and repatriation of Indian prisoners and fishermen.
