India provides 21k tonnes of fertiliser to Sri Lanka

Colombo [Sri Lanka], August 22: To deepen the relations between India and Sri Lanka and to provide humanitarian aid to crisis-ridden neighbour, India handed over 21,000 tonnes of fertilisers to Sri Lanka. Taking to their official Twitter handle, High Commission of India in Colombo, Sri Lanka said that, "Adding to the fragrance of friendship and cooperation. High Commissioner formally handed over 21,000 tonnes of fertiliser supplied under India's special support to the people of Sri Lanka." The fertiliser will contribute to food security and support the farmers of Sri Lanka. It demonstrates benefits to the people from close ties with #India and mutual trust and goodwill between #India and #Sri Lanka." Meanwhile, India has always been on the frontline in providing assistance to Sri Lanka and providing them the maximum amount of assistance when they were in worst crisis. The worsened situation of Sri Lanka affected a large number of people in the island and is on the fall since Covid-19 pandemic.
