India is citing country's competency in 5G: PM Modi
New Delhi [India], August 15: While addressing nation on the occasion of Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that India is ‘techade’ and government should focus on technologies such as 5G, semiconductor manufacturing and optical fibre cables. PM Modi further stated that the technologies will bring a revolution in the country at the grassroot level. With 5G, semiconductor manufacturing and OFCs in villages, we are bringing a revolution through Digital India to the grassroots level.” He said the country's flagship Digital India movement with the production of semiconductors, 5G networks, and optical fibre networks show strength, especially in three sectors - education, health facility, and change in common man's lives. Modi also stated that cooperative competitive federalism is the need of the hour and there should be a healthy spirit of competition among the states while progressing in different sectors. Earlier also PM Modi stated that collective efforts has been put in the spirit of cooperative federalism as a force helped India emerge from Covid pandemic. Earlier, addressing the seventh meeting of NITI Aayog he said that, "Every state played a crucial role according to its strength and contributed to India's fight against Covid. This led to India emerging as an example for the developing nations to look up to as a global leader." Meanwhile, during his speech at Red Fort, PM Modi congratulated the countrymen on the 75 years of Azadi ka Mahotsav and recalled the contribution of the freedom fighters and emphasised the role of the women in the country's freedom struggle.
