India celebrates 74th Independence Day, PM Modi addresses the nation
Independence Day is celebrated with pride and honor every year across India. This year, India celebrates 74th Independence Day amidst the Coronavirus pandemic. Despite the pandemic, just like every year, India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Parliament Building has been lit up with various colors to cherish the freedom memories. The celebrations have been lessened and only selected guess are invited to be the part of Red Fort event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the ramparts of Red Fort. He hoisted the Tricolour Flag and delivered his seventh straight Independence speech. He called for “Aatamnirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India). He also said that India is working on three COVID 19 vaccines. He said, “Those who were busy finding new places to put their flags, who wanted to expand their empire underestimated us. The world saw two world wars and so many nations faced immense destruction, but we rose through it all. Our freedom struggle was seen by the world.” He also thanked the efforts of Corona warriors, healthcare workers, doctors, and nurses, who have worked tirelessly. PM Modi also focused on manufacturing everything in India and helping the country and its people rise.
