In Amritsar, security forces found hand grenade two days before I-Day
Grenade Found in Punjab: Just two days before Independence Day 2021, a hand grenade has been found in Amritsar's residential area.
Meanwhile, the police reached the spot and sealed the entire area. The police is conducting an intensive search operation.

According to the information, a hand grenade was found outside the house in Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar. A panic situation has been created after the hand grenade was found in the residential area.

On receiving the information, the police reached the spot along with the bomb disposal squad and recovered the hand grenade.
The hand grenade was noticed by the garbage collectors. Upon receiving information, the police and bomb disposal squad reached the spot after getting information, recovered the hand grenade, and evacuated the surrounding area.
It comes two days before Independence Day 2021. A high alert has already been issued in several parts of Punjab ahead of I-Day.
Recently, suspected drones from Pakistan dropped IED-fitted 'tiffin box' and grenades in Amritsar. Punjab DGP Dinkar Gupta had revealed that the police has recovered 5 grenades, Improvised Explosive Device (IED)-fitted tiffin boxes, and 100 rounds of 9mm pistol in Amritsar.
He had also said that there was pressure from across the border on outfits that are involved in anti-national and militant activities to carry out some terrorist actions before Independence Day.
